I can't have a blog about movies, without mentioning the great actors who play the biggest part in making them memorable. In case some of you didn't know, Patrick Swayze's rep confirmed this week that the actor was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I was truly saddened to hear this news; it almost brought me to tears. Although I don't personally know Swayze, I have fallen in love with the characters he has brought to the screen. I'm sure we've all seen Ghost and Dirty Dancing"; no one can deny that Swayze has left his mark on the movie industry. The diagnosis comes as such a shock because pancreatic cancer has a 94% mortality rate, I only hope Swayze can defy those odds.
The year has just begun, and already we've lost two young talents: Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger. Another loss would just be devistating. My prayers are with the Swayze family.
